Trouble is my business is a staged reading of Raymond Chandler texts combined with jazz in the style of the film adaptations of his novels. Chandler is considered a pioneer of the hardboiled detective novels, a thriller series that became famous after the Second World War as the so-called "Black Series". In the character of Philip Marlowe, he created the melancholy private detective who tries to act morally and humanely in a corrupt, ruthless world. The narrator is the actor Günter Schaupp, who works as a freelance actor at the Ernst-Deutsch-Theater and Thalia-Theater in Hamburg. Casual cool jazz alternates with hot bebop.
