TUNE. Jim C. Nedd. „Remembering Songs“. Konzert

To mark the publication of Jim C. Nedd's debut monograph "Remembering Songs", TUNE invites the artist to curate a live program closely linked to the themes of the book.

Nedd's work blurs the line between fiction and documentary photography, drawing inspiration from geography, identity and popular culture. Influenced by memories and the narratives of Vallenato music, he creates images that interweave personal narratives with collective memory, using oral archives to capture stories and experiences. At the event, Nedd will present three new video works created in his hometown of Valledupar, as well as a newly commissioned composition he co-wrote with music writer Bandera Canta. This performance, which combines accordion, guitar and live poetry, will feature genres from the Colombian-Caribbean region. Nedd will perform with electronic instruments, accompanied by Carlos Russo on accordion and Peruvian cajon, Hansel Castro on guitar and Flor Barcenas Feria with live poetry.

On both evenings, a newly commissioned composition will be performed in the auditorium, combining accordion, guitar and live poetry and presenting genres from the Colombian-Caribbean region. Nedd performs with electronic instruments, accompanied by Carlos Russo on accordion and Peruvian cajon, Hansel Castro on guitar and Flor Barcenas Feria with live poetry. On Friday, the event includes a reading by Dr. Beatriz E. Balanta and on Saturday a listening session by artist and curator Edna Martinez. Throughout the weekend, video works by the artist, which were created in his Colombian hometown of Valledupar, will be shown in the West Gallery. On Saturday, Nedd will also open his sound installation Recuerdos II (Memories II) in the Terrassensaal, which will be installed until October 2024.
