Über Israel und Palästina sprechen. Eine multiperspektivische Trialog-Veranstaltung mit der „Gesellschaft im Wandel“ bei BERLIN GLOBAL

In the organizer's words:

The current conflict in Israel and Gaza began on October 7, 2023 - with far-reaching social consequences. How can we talk about this complex issue without becoming hardened or remaining silent? The Trialog project, initiated by Jouanna Hassoun and Shai Hoffmann, invites us to tackle precisely this challenge together.

BERLIN GLOBAL and "Gesellschaft im Wandel" are opening up a space for exchange: ask your questions, hear different perspectives and get into conversation with others.

Trialogue partners Lili Zahavi and Zakariyya Meißner will accompany the discussion. Both are personally affected by the conflict and bring Israeli and Palestinian identities to the trialogue. They deliberately create space for questions and views that often remain unspoken - and search for answers together with you.

The audience is the third voice in the trialogue: invited to think along, ask questions and actively participate. It is about political dimensions, prejudices and uncertainties, about hope and democracy. The trialogue offers a safe framework in which different perspectives can be heard and understood.

PARTICIPANTS

Lili Zahavi is a filmmaker with roots in Israel and the GDR. At home in both worlds, she grew up in Berlin after reunification. She is studying film directing at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg.

Lili works as an actress, director and author. Lili has been involved in social and political projects since her school days. She is active as an artistic consultant in projects with young people for pluralism and democracy and against racism and anti-Semitism and is involved as a trialogue sponsor of "Gesellschaft im Wandel".

Zakariyya Meißner: As a German-Palestinian, Zakariyya Meißner finds it particularly challenging to avoid the topic of the Middle East conflict, especially in Germany, where public discourse is often highly polarized. With his commitment, he wants to objectify the discourse and create spaces in which people can deal with the conflict openly and without reservations.

Zakariyya Meißner studied Islamic Studies in Freiburg and has many years of experience in the prevention of Islamist and right-wing extremist radicalization. Most recently, he completed his studies as a coach and organizational developer and now offers freelance support on topics such as the Middle East conflict, anti-discriminatory organizational development and group-focused misanthropy.
