Franz Himpsl is many things at once: an athlete, a teacher, a trumpeter, a free spirit—and, above all, the founder of Unterbiberger Hofmusik. Together with his wife Irene and their sons Xaver, Ludwig, and Franz Jr., the family pushes musical boundaries and creates a distinctive sound: Bavarian folk music meets jazz and influences from around the world.

The concert “Über Unterbiberger” is far more than just a musical evening—it’s an immersive experience. Unterbiberger Hofmusik combines its current live program with selected scenes from the documentary “Über Unterbiberger.” Cinematic impressions and live music intertwine, reinforce one another, and merge into an intense journey between the stage and the screen.
