The Udo Klopke Band is a three-time winner of the German Rock and Pop Award.
He has worked as a backing singer for SEAL, as a musical guitarist, studio singer and as a musician on the Dream Ship from India to Singapore. He gave guitar lessons to Henning Baum ("Jim Knopf und Lukas, der Lokomotivführer"), lent his guitar strap to Gunter Gabriel and accompanied numerous other musicians with his voice and guitar (including Marla Glen, Thomas Anders, Ingrid Peters, Andy Borg, Karel Gott and many more).
He and his band members Markus Bender - bass (e.g. for Marla Glen, Nils Landgren) and Jan Wienstroer - drums/percussion (e.g. for Harald Schmidt Show, Wolf Maahn), are a particularly cool troupe that we can look forward to!
At the beginning of the 2000s, he began recording his own music, organized his first concerts and started touring. He now travels all over Germany and neighboring countries with his music.
After his first album "The pirate's son" was runner-up twice at the 2017 German Rock and Pop Awards (best rock album, best CD album), "Make me an offer" (2019) came first in the "Best rock album" category and the current album "The King is dead" came second again.
"A song should always tell its story, that's the most important thing. And so I'm actually a storyteller, a traveling singer who stands in front of people with his little experiences and wisdom, and paints pictures in the air of sailing around the world and beautiful Bedouin daughters, of loving...and unfortunately not being loved again. "In addition, there is an entertainer who takes his audience with him, explains his songs and grooves until the last foot in the room is tapping along.
