UNBOXING STORIES

In the organizer's words:

Performance about the search for care in gift boxes

With "Unboxing Stories", Lena Neckel and Stina Hinrichs reveal the secret inner life of gift boxes. What stories do the items inside have to tell? What have they experienced and what does this have to do with social care work?

Whether warning triangle, high-heeled shoe or whisk, the found objects come to life and set the two performers in motion. The patriarchal conditioning of things becomes visible through their embodiment. They are used and transformed in a variety of ways and can thus abandon their supposed predestination.
In exchange with the found objects, the performers embark on a search for possibilities of transformation and emancipation.

In this way, very different stories of care are given a stage - sometimes bubbling with words, taking up space and humorous, sometimes quiet, serious and poignant. Personal memories of experiences are shared and feminist utopias are created.

With object theater and dance, the performative piece creates the story of a caring city beyond gender boundaries and role attributions.
