Despite her various careers and years of living abroad, Hildegard Knef always returns to her hometown of Berlin. "My work should be my myth," she said in an interview about herself, when asked about the problem of the overly private in her public image. What makes the impact of this multi-talented artist so special beyond her death? Her directness, her keen powers of observation, her inner turmoil and melancholy, her rebelliousness, her civil courage as a woman, artist and public figure? The program "Und der Mond hatte frei" was created in collaboration with Hildegard Knef's best friend: Petra Roek, author of the Knef biography "Fragt nicht warum".

Together with her pianist Frank Augustin, Ila Raven brings the myth of the diva to the stage alongside numerous Knef chansons: in concise, often contradictory and complementary dialogs. February 1, 2026 is the 24th anniversary of the death of the great Hildegard Knef. All the more reason for a performance to remember her.
