Many of us have been fascinated by sparkling minerals and mysterious fossils since we were children. This early curiosity often leads to our first own finds - and sometimes a lifelong passion grows out of it.

Once you start to take a closer look at minerals and fossils, you soon discover that there is a story behind every piece. The amazement grows with every look through the microscope.

On this evening, our technical assistant in geosciences - Benjamin Frenzel - shows how specialist knowledge and curiosity inspire each other - and why the geosciences are so much more than just shiny stones.
