United Nations International Tea Day

In the organizer's words:

After water, tea is the most consumed beverage on our planet. It's no wonder that the United Nations has dedicated an international day of remembrance to tea since 2020 - with the aim of raising global awareness of its long history and cultural and economic importance.

We are celebrating this day together: five country groups of Auslandsgesellschaft.de e.V. - the German-Chinese Society, the German-Indian Country Group, the German-Japanese Society, the German-British Society and the Ibero-American Group - will take you on a journey through the diverse tea cultures of the world.

You will learn interesting facts about the history of tea drinking, special preparation methods, cultural meanings and the different tea ceremonies in China, India, Japan, Great Britain and Latin America. And, of course, you will have the opportunity to taste tea from all five regions for yourself. 🫖
