They are the next dimension of German rock music: under the name UNIVERSUM25, members of In Extremo, Eisbrecher, Fiddler`s Green, Dritte Wahl and Slime have formed a brand new band to rouse apathetic humanity from its twilight slumber with their uncompromising hybrid mix of electro-metal and punk rock. With the gripping cover version of the Ton Steine Scherben cult song "Der Traum ist aus", the top-class all-star band is now presenting their first single!
Hard rock guitars, atmospheric electronica and ruthlessly open plain-text lyrics that put their finger in the wounds of a planet on the brink of self-destruction: this is what the dystopian and fascinating sound cosmos of Universum 25 sounds like. Behind the mysterious name are none other than Michael Robert Rhein (In Extremo), Rupert Keplinger (Eisbrecher, Antitype), Pat Prziwara (Fiddler's Green), Gunnar Schroeder (Dritte Wahl), Alex Schwers (Slime) and the renowned producer Jörg Umbreit - together the formation holds up a mirror to the world with their furious crossover of metal, rock and electronica.
UNIVERSUM25 are now giving a first taste of their post-apocalyptic sonic power with the remake of the Ton Steine Scherben classic "Der Traum ist aus", which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year and whose lyrics have lost absolutely nothing of their topicality and relevance in these times. An anti-war song with which frontman Micha Rhein has a very special connection.
