Unlocked #11 mit Eipo & Frivol
In the organizer's words:
The 11th edition of our newcomer series—and this time, it’s a very special OPEN-AIR event!
For new bands or artists, it’s often not easy to find a professional stage to present their music or art to a live audience—maybe even for the very first time.
We’re up for it, and as it happens, we have a small, central spot in Neustadt—the Scheune forecourt!
Eipo
Indie-folk: Singer-songwriter with fingerpicking
Eipo is a singer-songwriter with a Taiwanese-American background who blends indie/folk, fingerpicking, and Americana influences into her music.
Her songs are very personal—marked by longing, vulnerability, and that feeling of being content almost anywhere yet never quite feeling at home. Dreamy and vulnerable, her songs tell little stories from everyday life that hopefully awaken hidden emotions in everyone.
Having moved to Dresden for her studies, her musical journey ran parallel to her coming of age and is deeply shaped and influenced by her time at university and the people around her.
Frivol
Fresh, cheeky, and completely absurd
Fresh, sassy, and completely absurd, Frivol stumbles into Dresden’s student band scene. With their refreshing, downright transcendentally euphoric sound, they bring their lyrics
back into the hearts of their audience.
Buttery-smooth basslines melt on the tongue like filet mignon, delicate guitar solos ring in the ears like a glockenspiel on a cold winter day, clear keyboard interludes warm the soul like a down comforter, and the drums clatter until not a hair is left standing.
With Frivol, profoundly deep and profoundly superficial rock clearly meets a healthy dose of self-irony.
