UNMADE BEDS Amos Poe USA 1976 16mm OF with French and English subtitles 70'
Amos Poe's feature film debut pays homage to the French cinema of the Nouvelle Vague, especially the films of Jean-Luc Godard. The photographer Rico lives the life of a bohemian in New York, longs for Paris and feels like the hero of a Godard film. He even adopts Belmondo's gestures from À bout de souffle (Out of Breath), such as the thumb movement over the lips (again inspired by Bogart). Debbie Harry visits Rico for a photo session and sings the jazz song "Sweet Thing". (hjf)
