Jessica and Sofia are two New York-born and raised comedians whose experiences of consciousness and the universe couldn’t be more opposite and extreme.

Jessica, a former CIA agent turned energy healer, believes in the power of the chakras and the cosmos; and Sofia, a former member of a Buddhist cult turned staunch Buddhaphobic atheist, thinks that the answer to life’s mysteries is to make money andfck btches.

Get ready for a night of hysterically glorious opposites from two women who have lived a thousand lives (METAPHORICALLY (says Sofia))—(LITERALLY (says Jessica)). These two old souls will show you two sides of the same spiritual, jokey coin through extreme optimism and extreme pessimism.

Jessica Brodkin is a stand-up comedian and Reiki master healer from New York City. Her work blends top-secret government experience with shamanism and a playful reverence for psychedelics. Transforming pain—her own and others’—into something electrifying, she weaves magic and joy into every set. Known for her dark irreverence, sharp crowd interaction, and deep connection to the divine, Jessica creates a shared experience that celebrates and unites her audience. She is bringing her second show to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland this August and is making her debut in Berlin. She and her story have been featured in the NYPost and on MSNBC, and she has been a regular on SiriusXM, AMC, and TruTV.

Sofia May

Sofia May is an award-winning American stand-up comedian based in Berlin. Born and raised in New York City on a strict diet of *Ren and Stimpy* and poor boundaries, her comedic style is dark and whimsical. People often say, “She’s so innocent! Just like O.J. Simpson!”

She has been featured on the BBC, in the British Comedy Guide, The Jewish News, The Guardian, A Little Bit Culty, Cults to Consciousness, Guru Mag, Taz magazine, and more. Sofia performs all over Europe, as well as in London, New York City, and San Francisco. She won the award for Best Performer from Europe at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2025 for her debut one-hour set, “9/11 Birds and the Bees.” She performs nightly in Berlin and produces the weekly stand-up show at The Shine.

It’s no coincidence that she also spent seven years in a Buddhist cult as the leader’s assistant and is the whistleblower for that cult.
