Urban Priol

You can't step into the same river twice, says Heraclitus, all being is becoming. One thinks of Berlin's major airport and realizes: the old Greek was right. "All being is becoming" - Urban Priol regularly comes to this conclusion when he is working on his press release shortly before the deadline.

His new program is like a river in constant flux. The cabaret artist follows the constant flow of political events with a keen eye, even if the grand coalition-based German politics of recent years in particular is more reminiscent of a reservoir than a flowing body of water. Priol always has his finger on the pulse of the times, spontaneously and on a daily basis he often mocks faster than his shadow can think. He rumbles, thunders, flashes and, like a cleansing thunderstorm, makes many things shine in a bright, cheerful light. The master of parody ploughs shorelessly through the night, gets to the heart of complex relationships and transforms opaque, murky whirlpools into pure spring water.

He joyfully plunges into the floods of daily madness, dives into the abyss of the absurd, blasphemes with relish and has just as much fun as his audience. "In the River" is like a rafting trip that leads at breakneck speed over ledges and past boulders through wildly foaming rapids. Come along for the ride!
