It's that time again! The open-air season is in full swing and regular open-air events are once again taking place at the city beach. Together with Urbanite, we organize our ''URBAN SOUNDS'' every Friday on our Urbanite beach stage, where singers, songwriters, singer-songwriters and bands present their music. From alternative, indie, folk, pop to rock, there is a varied program every week.

On board this time:

ALMOST CHARLIE

Almost Charlie was founded in the summer of 2003 when Berlin guitarist and singer Dirk Homuth met New York lyricist Charlie Mason on the Internet. The resulting transatlantic songwriting duo has never met in person. For the realization of his music in the studio as well as live, Homuth surrounds himself with musicians, some of whom have been with him for a long time or only appear occasionally as guests.

The songs of Almost Charlie also achieve a special intimacy in the musician's solo concerts, where they know how to assert themselves stripped of their otherwise sometimes more, sometimes less lavish instrumentation.
The band's fifth studio album "A Whisper In A World Too Loud" was released this year, just like its predecessors on the US label Words On Music.

"Almost Charlie obviously don't care about current musical trends - I'm almost inclined to say they deliberately do without them - and at the same time make a fashionable term like "retro" obsolete.
