VA-2024-11 | KREATIVITÄT UND MENTALE GESUNDHEIT

In the organizer's words:

CREATIVITY AND MENTAL HEALTH

Raising awareness of mental health, self-care, mental health and creativity

Mental health is an essential prerequisite for optimal creative work. In the cultural and creative industries in particular, however, there are often living and working conditions that have a negative impact on this area of the human being.

In this seminar, all participants are invited on a journey into the mental landscapes of creative processes in the field of tension between dedication and exhaustion, power and powerlessness, between high workloads and the necessary quiet waiting spaces for reflection and self-definition.

Blocks to creativity, fear of failure, existence and the future, dysfunctional mindset, high stress sensitivity, pressure to be creative, one-sided strain on the body, three times more frequent occurrence of depressive experiences in the creative sector than in other occupational groups, sometimes precarious working conditions are topics that will be addressed. Diversity of perspective is important to the speaker, and space should also be left for the inexpressible, the undefinable in creative processes.

Using case studies from coaching with people from the creative sector, the aim is on the one hand to show possible solutions, opportunities and risks, and on the other hand to open up a loving view of the narcissistic and depressive experiences often associated with creative professionals.

Additional workshop part: Resonance space creativity and health

The resonance space can be used as a co-creative exchange in which the participants can discuss their views, their problem-solving skills and their questions together. It can be used to deepen and intensify the topics addressed in the Creativity: Sensitization event on topics of mental health, self-care and mental health. It offers different perspectives and opportunities for development and unfolding. This workshop serves as an impulse, as a platform for the exchange of experiences for creative people.
