Vernissage // InBetween - Anna Lena Terwey

Anna-Lena Terwey's current artistic work focuses on photographic investigations of balconies as transitional places between public and private space. The focus is on the quiet tension inherent in these in-between spaces.
Places that are both retreats and interfaces to publicly accessible space. Dealing with privacy in photography is a central focus of her work.
In order to preserve the anonymity of the people depicted, faces are deliberately concealed by architectural elements such as balcony scaffolding.

We see ourselves as a donation gallery.
By selling the pictures, we donate a fixed proportion to a charitable organization in consultation with the exhibiting artist. In this case, the proceeds go to the Frauenhaus und Beratung e.V. association.
The association Frauenhaus und Beratung e.V. has existed since 1976 and the women's shelter in Münster was founded in 1991. It is an autonomous, self-governing association consisting of three projects. All projects are committed to the protection of women and children affected by violence.
