Dear interested parties, dear art lovers,
the Kunstverein Ludwigshafen would like to cordially invite you to the vernissage of the exhibition"Not yet: Utopia in the making" !
Thursday, May 7, 2026
Ludwigshafen is a city that will never be finished. Between the concrete and the Rhine, between what was and what could yet come, a space of the not-yet is emerging. This is precisely where the 2026 annual program comes in. From May to October, the Kunstverein will present the urban space with new site-specific works by international and regional artists - between Bismarckstraße and Europaplatz, Parkinsel and Hauptbahnhof.
Schedule of the evening
18:00
Bismarckstraße / intersection Schulstraße
Introduction and drinks in front of Katinka Eichhorn's new site-specific work.
from 19:30
Kiosk, Hafenstraße 2, Parkinsel
Walk together to Parkinsel, where Maria Mayland's 16mm film work A Wideness, Opening and Closing and an outdoor work by Haru Apa Nyx will be shown.
From May 7 in the urban space
A selection of artists' books on the theme of utopia will be on display at the Ludwigshafen City Library for the entire duration of the exhibition from May to October 2026.
Historical posters from the 1950s and 60s will return to the public space at selected locations in the city center. They come from the Seefelder poster collection - donated to the Kunstverein in 1983 and now one of the most important collections of its kind with more than 8,000 exhibits from all over the world. The posters can be seen in Ludwigshafen stores and form a cultural discovery route in the middle of the city.
Over the course of the summer, the program will continue to unfold with works by Noah Fischer, Katarina Burin, Hanne Lippard, Raul Walch, Coco Fusco, Driton Selmani, Emmélie Lempert, Gabriela Pelczarska and Kübra Ural.
We look forward to welcoming you over a drink.
With best regards
The team of the Kunstverein Ludwigshafen
