In her works, Ines Doleschal explores the history of her family from Hohenelbe in northern Bohemia. Her starting point are photographs of her ancestors and memories of the expulsion from Czechoslovakia and the new beginning in West Germany after 1945. In collages of paintings and fragments as well as in her texts, she condenses what expulsion means for the people who experienced it and for subsequent generations: a life between holding on and moving on, preserving and forgetting. Memorabilia complement the exhibition.
A creative station invites visitors to create their own collages. The artist offers collage workshops on several Sundays.
Duration of the gallery exhibition: February 26, 2026 to August 31, 2026
