Verstärker! Die Konzertreihe im Makro mit Mhou und The Interlaken Tapes

In the organizer's words:

THIS TIME WITH...

Mhon

Mhon tells stories, interwoven with silence and sounds that she has collected on her travels around the world - recorded on cassettes, on the road with an old Walkman. By deliberately being alone on stage, with an analog synthesizer, Walkman and voice processor, Mhon's music has a special purity and reduction. Delicate vocals, field recordings, processed sounds and deliberately used silence come together and make a reflection of the individual in the world audible.

Judith Mann has toured Europe and New York with her music. Her works can be found in exhibitions, radio plays and theater productions. She often collaborates with visual artists.

"I met Judith Mann a few years ago at the Brooklyn Rod and Gun Club and she introduced me to her ethereal, haunting music. She's like an avant-garde Cat Power meets Björk. I think her music is amazing - and for whatever reason incredibly visual: I just keep seeing things when I hear it." (Peter Mattei for Electric Literature)

"Like acoustic Edward Hopper paintings - scenarios described in song."(live unsigned)

"Border crosser between sound installation and minimalist songwriting."(ALPress)

Solo musician with synthesizer, vocal art and field recordings from cassette. From avant-garde cool ambient and fictional film scores to classic singer-songwriter works. A single person acting like a complete band in a play.(Concrete Gardens of Eden)

...AND...

The Interlaken Tapes

Krautgaze / Post-Punk / Electronica from the Ruhr area

The Interlaken Tapes combine hypnagogic lo-fi, krautrock, shoegaze, trip-hop, post-punk and indietronic to create atmospheric, repetitive soundscapes. Characteristic are the withdrawn, almost mumbled, associative vocals in German and English.

The project debuted in 2024 with a self-titled lo-fi post-punk EP. This was followed in June 2025 by the mini-album "2", which expanded the sound with motorik rhythms and electronic textures and featured guest vocals from Christopher Krite Uhe.

After a collaboration single with Joachim Franz Büchner at the beginning of 2026, the first full-length album "Dance" was released in summer 2026, delving even deeper into electronic spheres.

Behind the project is Gorden Spangardt (ex-Kirmes), who is also active as an electronica producer under the name GRDN. He is supported live by Björn Schmidt (Zenq, laer).
