Embark on a visual journey through time over eight centuries. A collage of images and films shows the buildings that once stood here, their uses and important events that took place here. It makes clear that the site was a representative center of power for centuries, symbolically charged and often controversial. Princes and politicians demolished, rebuilt or rebuilt here to express their political aspirations and visions. The design of the exhibition space with its raw concrete walls also alludes to the fact that this place was always a "construction site of power." With the Video Panorama, the Humboldt Forum offers an introduction to the history of the site. The Sculpture Hall, the Palace Cellar and the Traces exhibition, distributed decentrally throughout the building, complement this access.
