In the organizer's words:
"Without Bach, everything would be nothing," says Víkingur Ólafsson. "If Glass' music is minimal music, then Bach is maximal." The pianist has investigatively researched Bach's contrapuntal work and brings the most diverse facets to life in the "Goldberg Variations". Slender and straightforward, yet at the same time incredibly expressive in his playing, the Icelander casts a spell and fascinates with his sensual joy of experimentation and suggestive density of expression.
