Rolando Villazón is one of the most charismatic tenors of our time, a world star on the great opera stages from Milan to Munich, from Vienna to New York. As a singer, passionate storyteller, director and artistic director of the Salzburg Mozart Week, Villazón has dedicated himself to the genius of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in a very special way - and is now celebrating the 270th birthday of his favorite composer at the SHMF this year!
The anniversary program unfolds the whole range of Mozart's stage music and revolves around arias and scenes for kings, emperors and a birdcatcher. You can look forward to an evening that celebrates Mozart's music not in a museum-like manner, but in a lively, human and captivating way - entirely in the spirit of the composer himself, who never ceased to be amazed by the human soul.
