Violet Festival TAG 2 - Workshops + Party // house of pumps

HOPpalla - we're doing a festival! The House of Pumps collective (HOP) is back - with VIOLET #4 in XXL! What usually lights up for one evening now becomes a three-day space for queer art and community. For the first time, the doors will open for an entire festival weekend: Come as queer as you are - and stay that way. It starts on Friday with a performance, arrivals, reunions, getting to know each other - and dancing! We start the festival weekend with a performance and then move to the Pumpenhaus foyer for a get-together. Saturday then turns up the heat - with workshops and the fourth VIOLET evening: catwalk, magic, performance, DJs. As always: anything goes, nothing is a must - we just promise that it will be wild, queer and unexpected. And because every good weekend deserves a good ending, there'll be a get-together on Sunday with a relaxing movie and community vibes. Can you smell the popcorn yet? Are you ready to get VIOLET?

Saturday turns up the heat - with the fourth edition of VIOLET: theater, magic show and DJ sets come together before the legendary queer party takes over the Pumpenhaus until the early hours. Wild, queer, unexpected - everything can, nothing has to.

VIOLET starts with your arrival and ends around 4:00 pm. Stay as long as you like within this period.

Unfortunately, not all rooms are barrier-free. If you have any questions or would like to clarify special requirements with us in advance, please contact the Theater im Pumpenhaus (buero@pumpenhaus.de). You will then be forwarded to us.

We try to create a night that is a good experience for everyone through an awareness team, our artists and various strategies.

Unattended coat hooks are available for your jackets. Please do not bring large bags/backpacks.

Arrival: We recommend arriving on foot or by bike/bus (N82 from Münster main station to the Pumpenhaus Lublinring stop). Parking spaces are not available.

Dance workshop - La Défilé with Sebastian Knipp (7 places)

Le Défilé is a short, choreographed catwalk performance created in a workshop. Inspired by queer cultural moments, it is about visibility, self-presentation and presence. We will present what we have created in the workshop together (if you are interested - not a must!) on the iconic VIOLET catwalk in the middle of the party!

Drag Vorglühen - Introduction to drag art as a pre-party ritual (6 places)

This workshop teaches the basics of drag: make-up, character development and, above all, fun. Looks, jokes and connections are created in 3-4 hours. Experience drag as a collaborative practice - and conquer the party together at the end. No previous experience necessary, just curiosity!

Lambe-Lambe (Theater)
Lambe-Lambe theater is a miniature form from Brazil: short plays in small boxes for one person at a time. Scenes with figures, light and sound are viewed through an opening. The format is mobile, intimate and often poetic - theater as an immediate, surprising one-to-one experience.

Ursula's Tea Room (installation)
A hot brew steams, mysterious objects shimmer, moray eels lurk in dark corners. The sea witch Ursula invites you to a tea room in her cave. Spill the tea: Are queer-coded Disney villains really evil - or just doomed for the role? And what do they actually do in retirement? An evening of horror and enjoyment.

Chubby Go Go - Queer Menu (The Bougie Buffet Edition) (Performance)
Chubby Go Go serves up again and invites you to his "Queer Menu". This time he serves his own queer biography as an "All You Can Eat" buffet! Appetizing performance snacks await you again - sometimes bittersweet, sometimes hot and spicy! For gourmets and junk food freaks - there's something for every taste! Bon appetit, baby!

Cosmo & the Universe (magic show)
Cosmo & the Universe blur the boundaries between appearance and reality. Fire show, magic and glitter meet queer magic. Cosmo combines illusions with political issues, while The Universe heightens the spectacle with drag, bodies and pathos. A performance between magic, pop and political show.

Queer Lapdance Collective - Queer Lapdance (Performance)
Too loud, too sexy, too shy? The Queer Lapdance Collective rejects normative attributions and celebrates queerness as wild, self-empowered and unruly. Lapdance here can be strong, playful, dark or angry - but always hot. Trans Gods, Daddys, Enbys, Dykes, Butches and Queens conquer the stage. Consensus remains key!

DJ fen : chill
fen:chill (she/her) is your local fave with deep roots in the queer scene and a special connection to the Pumpenhaus. Her sets move between melodic techno and house, combining light & dark, introverted and extroverted moments. Expect playful elements, atmospheric soundscapes and a bassline that carries you far, far away.

DJ Goldie
Goldie is firmly anchored in the electronic music scene. Her sets between house, deep percussions and surprising sounds are full of energy and close to the audience. As co-founder of the Dresden label fragmented:, she combines music, art and politics, shaping the scene far beyond the dancefloor.

The Catwalk
Violet's legendary catwalk is an invitation to fun, dance and pure expression: "come as you are, as queer as you are". Here, everyone becomes a star, moves freely, plays with the stage and celebrates the night. A space full of energy, glitter, movement and queer self-empowerment on the dancefloor.
