Anger is a universal force. Similar to a storm - unavoidable under certain conditions and recurring by nature. In her solo TEMPEST, the furious choreographer and dancer Lisbeth Gruwez (Into the Open, Nomadics) harnesses this elemental force. The choreography oscillates between chaos and clarity. Gruwez draws on the repertoire of martial arts to transform raw energy into focused strength. Anger becomes a collective current that affects us all. A vibration in a charged atmosphere that electrifies everyone. We are in a relationship with this field of tension. Whether consciously or unconsciously. TEMPEST is an invitation to transform anger. From destructive to constructive power. From divisive to unifying. The piece is a dance in the eye of the storm. And in the midst of the vortex, where silence reigns.
