VolXbühne Lufti Kuss: School of Love

Our collaborative project this year with 11 students from the Remberg School—

a special education school for students with intellectual disabilities, four performers from VolXbühne (aged 65+), and Mülheim-based musician Peter Eisold—is a humorous exploration of one of life’s central themes: love. This topic affects everyone! There’s no universal guide to love; instead, every student must have their own individual experiences—and the seniors know that.  

Can you learn about love? If there had been a school of love, what kind of school would it have been—one where we’d learn all the things that nobody actually teaches us in real life? How to feel and communicate “yes” and “no” through our bodies, and perhaps the most important question of all: how to love ourselves?
