On the occasion of Candlemas, early spring is celebrated on the Schloßberg - in the museum, in the church and in the open air. The event draws on both Erzgebirge Candlemas traditions and the French Chandeleur, where crêpes are traditionally eaten as a symbol of light and new beginnings. À la Chandeleur visitors can expect culinary delights, music, guided tours and creative workshops. Light, sound and history combine to create a varied afternoon and evening program:

14:00 & 16:00: The new city. Curator tours for the finissage
15.00: Candlemas in representations of the Schloßbergmuseum
3.30 pm: Une brève histoire du Schloßberg en français
5.00 pm: One more Christmas carol with the Erzgebirgsbläserquintett
5.30 pm: De la musique française on the French symphonic Vleugels organ
18.15 h: Alphorn sound to say goodbye

Parallel to this: Exploration of the grounds and workshops with paper & pencil, wool, wax and metal as well as encounters with the Benedictine monk Brother Johannes throughout the afternoon
