Lisa, Marc, Benjamin and Tom have been best friends since their youth, now they are in their late 30s and in the middle of life - at least on paper. For the birth of Tom's first child, the four of them finally meet up again and after they are accidentally locked out on the terrace, it becomes clear that midlife means more crisis and less fun than expected for all four of them: Marc has just been dumped, Benjamin has been fired, Lisa is having an affair with a married man and all three of them find Tom's newborn baby downright ugly. After one of these truths is spoken, the bourgeois facades crumble inexorably ...

With a great deal of humor and empathy for his characters, Raccah lets the four friends wrestle over unpleasant truths, different life plans and their friendship in quick exchanges. The title of the play "Before the Fall" refers both to the famous proverb "Pride comes before a fall", which could easily be applied to one or other of the characters in the play, and to the fact that any one of us could fall quickly in the end. But the time before that is the interesting part!
