In the organizer's words:

owing your own seeds is part of the cultural heritage of mankind and a society. For a long time, anyone who had their own garden was also a seed gardener. Today, as in the past, the independent propagation of seeds in our home gardens can help us to gain more diversity, experience, competence and independence.

The lecture includes a short excursion into the history of private crop cultivation up to the present day and provides practical and simple instructions on how to start producing your own seeds.

Hedwig Achner and Sabrina Demmel have been part of the Allgäu Seed Cooperative since it was founded more than three years ago. This is a network of seed gardeners from different regions of the Allgäu who want to propagate and preserve seeds together and support each other regionally.
