In 2019, Repulsion drummer Chris Moore and Josephine Olivia (Blacksage) founded their joint project Vosh in Washington DC, which is bursting with sheer power, longing, aggression and sexual energy. Layered guitar lines meet heavy synths, thunderous drums and Josephine's unmistakable voice, making Vosh a machine that carves its own path with haunting passion.

Vosh's debut album "Vessel" is a melting pot of musical influences, ranging from Bauhaus to early Ministry, Sisters of Mercy, Zounds and Killing Joke to today's titans Nine Inch Nails. And although the album could be described with broad and generic terms such as "synth-pop" or "darkwave", the drama, intensity and excellent songwriting suggest something much deeper, more sinister and darkly beautiful. "Vessel" doesn't just drag along, it bangs and bursts with explosive energy, combining icy gothic coolness with red-hot drama and muscle power.

Singer, lyricist and frontwoman Josephine Olivia is the musical heart of Vosh. She combines the dreamy and ethereal approach of a Hope Sandoval or Alison Shaw (Cranes), the versatility of a David Bowie and the commanding power of greats like Siouxsie, Diamanda Galas or Lisa Gerrard (Dead Can Dance). Her voice sails above it all, presenting catchy melodies in a dramatic and haunting way that recalls voices from gothic, dream pop, indie and elements of traditional pop music. The album was recorded by the band themselves, with Moore enlisting longtime collaborator Kevin Bernsten of Baltimore's Developing Nations to mix, and Magnus Lindberg (Tribulation, Russian Circles, Lucifer, Hellacopters, Frida Hyvönen, etc.) to master.
