Wachsende Stadt - Rundgang zu Fassadenbegrünung in der Innenstadt

Green façades have been a feature of Leipzig for over two hundred years - and are once again coming into focus today. In view of increasingly hot summers, they are seen as an effective tool for climate adaptation and contribute to cooling, biodiversity and enhancing the cityscape.

As part of the special exhibition "Sun. Full. Summer in Leipzig", the Leipzig City History Museum, together with Ökolöwen e.V. and its project "Kletterfix - Green Walls for Leipzig", invites you to take a tour of Leipzig's city center. Historical examples of green façades will be presented, the many positive effects explained and widespread prejudices against climbing plants classified. Ökolöwe e.V. invites you to think about façade greening as an integral part of a sustainable city.

The event is suitable for all participants who are interested in green façades but still have many unanswered questions. It is not necessary to register for the tour. However, participation is linked to a visit to the special exhibition and the associated museum admission (€0-8). The ticket for the special exhibition does not have to be used on the same day and is valid for the entire duration of the exhibition.
