Wanderung: Zur "Hohen Linde" und Wildrosenpfad (Sangerhausen)

In the organizer's words:

Lovely landscape, wild roses and a breathtaking slag heap

Hiking excursion: to the "Hohe Linde" and wild rose trail (Sangerhausen)

What awaits you

We meet at the main train station in Halle and travel together to Sangerhausen, where the actual tour starts. From the station, we quickly turn towards the rising heights in the north and reach the Karstlandschaft Südharz biosphere reserve. We walk through beautiful mixed forest up to the Schlösschenkopf (310m) with its observation tower "Moltkewarte" (Harzer Wandernadel stamp). We then hike in a semi-circle around one of Sangerhausen's landmarks - the 145-metre-high "Hohe Linde" spoil tip. The pointed cone slag heap left over from the mining of copper slate shapes the landscape of the northern edge of the Goldene Aue - and being able to see it up close is a very special experience. Afterwards, you follow romantic paths along the wild rose trail, which is in full bloom at this time of year. Here you can once again enjoy wonderful views of the charming hilly landscape and as far as the Kyffhäuser. Finally, we pass the historic Walkmühle mill on the way back to Sangerhausen, where we return to Halle from the train station.
