In the organizer's words:

How does voluntary service abroad affect life afterwards? The film confronts seven former volunteers several years after their voluntary service abroad with images and statements from this intensive time. For three people from Tanzania and Cameroon, the trip to Germany was their first ever stay in Europe. Four German volunteers in turn supported a social project outside Europe.

What are the similarities and differences between the volunteers? How do they categorize their stay today in terms of "development policy"?

In the subsequent film discussion, Christian Weinert (director) and former volunteers will discuss the lasting effects, benefits and challenges of voluntary services between the Global North and Global South.
