The benefit concert "WATER IS LIFE" will take place for the 8th time on January 31, 2026 at the Musiktheater Piano.
We are delighted to have "The Chainsaw Hollies" and friend for this concert.
"The Chainsaw Hollies - with an amp in your ear and a heart on their sleeve" That's probably the quickest way to describe these guys. Founded in the mid-90s. First concerts just outside Dortmund. All their records were immediately a hit with the critics. Far removed from any attitude or pretentious credibility, they make timeless records, combining their raw energy with sensitivity and fun live.
"Oasis" wanted them as support, they played before "Die Ärzte" at the Lorelei and are the "favorite German band" of the Scottish band "Teenage Fanclub".
They are relaxed and easy-going. The Replacements, The Jam, Tom Petty, power, punk, pop, rock'n'roll - their music is probably best described as power pop.
They play for the well:fair for the second time on request.
Then "The Chainsaw Hollies" + "friend"!
Why? Because they are bringing along and accompanying a good friend as a guest, a musician, author, actor - let us surprise you!
The program will start promptly at 8 p.m. with representatives of the foundation, who will report on the foundation's work.
The well:fair foundation,www.wellfair.ngo, formerly the Neven Subotic Foundation, has set itself the task of ensuring greater global justice in the poorest regions of the world and promotes the construction of drinking water wells and sanitary facilities in Ethiopia, Kenya and Tanzania.
696 million people have no access to a basic drinking water supply. It is not possible for them to get drinking water in less than 30 minutes (for the outward and return journey and waiting time). One in four people do not have access to basic sanitation, which affects 1.4 billion people worldwide.
Birgit Blanck is an ambassador for the foundation and has already been able to raise over 130,000 euros for the construction of drinking water wells with the previous benefit concerts, the associated fundraising campaigns and together with all guests and supporters. This means clean drinking water for almost 6,000 people, the elementary prerequisite for a healthy and self-determined life.
The proceeds from the 7th and now 8th benefit concert will be used to realize a complete WASH project (Water, Sanitation, Hygiene) at a school in Kenya.
100% of the proceeds from the evening will go to the well:fair foundation.
