Three-Day Summer Festival at the Kumpeltreff / Holland Coal Mine & Two-Day Flea Market!

Summer is here, and we cordially invite you to our third summer festival under the winding tower at Zeche Holland! Over the course of three days, the grounds of Zeche Holland in Bochum will be transformed into a lively festival area full of joy, music, artists, and culinary delights. Admission is free!

Enjoy a diverse stage program featuring music and entertainment for all ages. At the same time, our artists’ market will be taking place, where you can admire the works of talented artists and purchase unique handcrafted items. It’s the perfect opportunity to find special gifts or treat yourself!

We’ve put together a colorful program for our youngest guests and made the kids’ corner even bigger! Three bounce houses, game stations like giant Connect Four, cornhole, ladder golf…, slushies, and a photo booth will ensure plenty of fun and lasting memories. Adults are, of course, welcome to join in the fun, too 

Of course, delicious food is a must! Look forward to freshly grilled bratwurst, refreshing drinks, and many other delicacies. Our team at Kumpeltreff will make sure you’re well taken care of so you can enjoy the day to the fullest. Last year, we had everything from langos and pulled pork to crepes, falafel, potatoes, and Asian noodles.

The summer festival is the perfect opportunity for Wattenscheid! residents to meet friends and have a great time together. There are cozy seating areas all over the grounds that invite you to linger and chat. Enjoy the sun and let your mind wander!

Flea Market:

But that’s not all! On Saturday and Sunday, our popular flea market will take place—spanning two days! From the Kumpeltreff to the Alte Lohnhalle, you can discover treasures from days gone by and enjoy the unique atmosphere.
Registration opens in early January, but based on previous years, we can already look forward to over 120 vendors. And aside from arts and crafts, only private sellers are allowed—no commercial vendors!

and the Alte Lohnhalle Wattenscheid right next door

Our flea market at the Alte Lohnhalle Wattenscheid and the Kumpeltreff, organized by Knepper Management, is a paradise for flea market enthusiasts and bargain hunters. For the summer edition, we’re opening the grounds at the Kumpeltreff of the Holland Coal Mine to creative artists and artisans. The rest of the area is reserved for private sales only. Since our first flea market in February 2020, our market has become a popular destination. Admission remains free for all visitors.

 Parking options: Gertrudisparkhaus and, on Sundays, the Lidl parking lot (just a short walk away). At the venue itself, there’s a small parking lot for visitors who have difficulty walking.
