In the organizer's words:
Waves Vienna is Austria's leading showcase festival and international music conference. Every year, the festival brings around 110 up-and-coming artists from Austria and around the world to numerous stages along Vienna's Gürtel. Between indie, pop, electronic, rock and experimental sounds, there are new favorite acts to discover, often before they become known to a wider audience.
The music program is complemented by an international conference for the music industry. Waves Vienna combines concerts, exchange and networking and turns Vienna into a meeting place for new music and current developments in the European music scene for several days.
