In the organizer's words:

we are ALVA - between magic, sea and melody
The name ALVA was born from the vastness of Lanzarote, from wind, lava and light, from a deep connection to nature and a keen sense for the invisible.
A word from Old Norse. A homage to Jannike's Swedish roots.
"The fighting elf" - a symbol of tenderness and strength, of dream and determination.
It is precisely this tension that characterizes the music of we are ALVA.
Behind the project are Jan & Jannike - thoroughbred musicians, free spirits, modern hippies with open hearts and alert eyes.
Jannike on piano and voice, Jan on guitar and vocals.
Both have been writing songs since childhood - not as a product, but as an expression of their attitude to life.
Whether in an intimate duo setting or with a full five-piece band:
we are ALVA move sonically between a contemporary interpretation of the Beatles and the subtle restraint of Kings of Convenience.
Their music combines emotional singer-songwriter aesthetics with groovy indie pop.
Carried by a driving rhythm section, striking two-part harmony, playful keys and detailed guitar layers, they create songs that create closeness and open up expansiveness.
Each track is a page in a musical picture book - colorful, honest and profound.
