The Kiel String Quartet presents a program full of contrasts and surprises that showcases the entire spectrum of string quartet artistry. Mozart's cheerful String Quartet in B flat major, K. 458, better known as the "Hunting Quartet", is played, with an unexpectedly wistful adagio in the middle. The final turn in Beethoven's 11th String Quartet "Quartetto serioso" is also unexpected. After pain and seriousness, it suddenly brings joy and hope. Ravel's progressive string quartet in F major finally breaks the boundaries of form. Changing, rhapsodic and colorful - it opens up new worlds of sound.
