Weihnachtsstadt Dortmund 2024

2024 for the 125th time: one of the largest Christmas markets in Europe.

With over 250 stalls selling arts and crafts, Christmas decorations, unusual toys and much more, there is almost everything to make your heart beat faster during the Advent season. And what would a visit to Dortmund's Christmas city be without the many drink specialties and mulled wine from the annual mug? With its annually changing motif, it is a coveted collector's item.

Culinary delights at the Dortmund Christmas Town include hearty dishes such as bratwurst and Westphalian grilled ham as well as sweets such as roasted almonds, crêpes and other treats.

The Christmas Town offers stalls and entertainment for the whole family.

The Christmas Town is spread over 10 squares in Dortmund's city center.

1st Hansaplatz
The largest Christmas tree in the world marks the center of Hansaplatz, visible from afar. Traders and food stalls are set up around it, while the Christmas village and the theater tent are located on the steps to the south.

2nd Kleppingstraße - 3rd Willy-Brandt-Platz
Cross Brauhausstraße to the east to reach Kleppingstraße, where the Christmas market runs from the sparkling Lichtergasse down to Willy-Brandt-
Platz.

4th Reinoldikirchplatz 5th Alter Markt
The fairytale forest is located on Reinoldikirchplatz at Reinoldikirche, from where the path leads to Alter Markt. The city's old main square is home to popular eateries, which have created space in the middle for snack, delicatessen and trade stands.

6th Leeds Square
Behind the Reinoldi Church, the large Ferris wheel dominates Leeds Square. It is also home to the craftsmen's quarter, where, among other things, the Hohenstein Punch and Judy
welcomes the children in the historic house.

7th Kampstrasse - 8th Netanya Square
The path leads west along Kampstraße past light sculptures to Netanya Square with its 16-metre-high Christmas pyramid.

9th Petrikirchplatz - 10th Katharinentor
The Christmas Town ends here near St. Peter's Church, with food and trade stalls on both sides of the church. This is the only place to buy the special Christmas town beer from the
Hövels Hausbrauerei to try! On Kampstraße to the right is Katharinenstraße with the illuminated Katharinen Gate. It welcomes guests coming from the main railway station as they begin their journey through the Christmas town.
