Christmas and Hanukkah are among the most popular festivals in the Christian and Jewish traditions. Despite their different origins, they also have something in common: they use light to brighten up the dark season and are celebrated close together.

This Chrismukkah concert bears the typical signature of "Stella's Morgenstern":
The ensemble has selected the traditional, the unknown and the new, relying on several languages and multi-strings. The musicians play Christmas carols, some from the Middle Ages, in German, English or Spanish, mixed with Hanukkah songs in Hebrew, Yiddish and Ladino. To this end, "Stella's Morgenstern" embarks on musical excursions to the Andes or Hawaii, playing Christmas songs by Jewish composers - the most famous of which is certainly "White Christmas" by Irving Berlin.

The musicians have written their own Christmas songs or come up with lively arrangements of traditional Channukah songs. In them, they address the longing for redemption and the Messiah, for light and love and a world at peace.
