Welcome Music Concert Rodovid

The ensemble Rodovid conveys Ukrainian tradition with folklore songs.

The six singers Olena Levytska, Solomiya Dyshlyuk, Iryna Das, Kateryna Zhuk, Olena Popadiuk and Liliia Korzun come from different regions of Ukraine (Cherkassy, Vinnytsia, Kiev, Lviv and Odessa) and met in Hamburg.

In October 2022 they founded the ensemble to make Ukrainian folklore known - among German listeners, but also among Ukrainians living here in Germany.

The ensemble participated in many Ukrainian and German music festivals, as well as in conferences and charity concerts in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, conducted workshops and gave street concerts.

The name says it all: Rodovid is the Ukrainian word for ancestors and family tree. The ensemble not only sings Ukrainian songs in the very typical and impressive polyphony, but also wears traditional clothes. "Our ancestors gave us traditions and powerful songs. We guard them, develop them and share them with others," says the ensemble.
