In the organizer's words:

What do we owe the next generation? The question of how we can do justice to the children of today and tomorrow is more topical than ever: equal education and opportunities and the strengthening of children's rights are not only social challenges, but also indicators of the future viability of a democracy.

How can we not only talk about children and their future, but also give them their own voice - in politics, culture and society? The current exhibition Kinder, Kinder! shows how representations of children have reflected power relations, norms and values for centuries. But what does it look like today? Do children remain merely objects of the adult world in images and debates or do we manage to really include their perspectives?

Television presenter Ralph Caspers - known from formats such as Wissen macht Ah! or Die Sendung mit der Maus - and Pia Linden, Head of Education / Participation at Haus der Kunst in Munich, who co-curated the exhibition Für Kinder. Art Histories since 1968, has shown new ways of taking children seriously as an audience. The panel will be complemented by a voice from the humanitarian context: Nienke Teunissen from War Child will speak on the topic of "Childhood in crisis".

Stefan Koldehoff (Deutschlandradio) will moderate the discussion. In the second part of the evening, the floor belongs to you, the audience: Mandy Frick (ahoy Radio) will contribute her perspectives to the discussion as co-moderator. We are looking forward to a stimulating and exciting exchange with you, which will be accompanied by live sketching that graphically condenses the dynamics of the discussion and thus makes it possible to experience the discussion afterwards.

With Kunst kann mehr!, the Bucerius Kunst Forum is opening up a space for debate and ideas for the future. The series brings culture and politics into conversation - not as a contradiction, but as an invitation to think together.
