We are looking for you!

Summers are also getting noticeably hotter in Hamburg. Periods of heat are increasing in duration and intensity and pose major health challenges, especially for older people, children and people with pre-existing conditions or disabilities.

For our pilot project "Hitzelots:innen" in the Niendorf district (Tibarg), we are therefore looking for volunteers who would like to actively promote health-related heat protection on selected days in July and August. As a Hitzelots:in, you will provide information and advice on prevention measures and give direct practical help by distributing water, sun cream and knowledge about what to do in the event of a heat emergency.

STAY COOL - BECOME A HITZELOTS:IN

Step 1: Register by May 31 using the following form: Registration form

Step 2: Learn important basics about climate impacts and health risks associated with heat in our training on June 25, 2026, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m., Garstedter Weg 13.

Step 3: Join the conversation and pass on your knowledge about heat protection as a Hitzelots:in on 2 to 3 mornings (Thursdays) between July 23 and August 27, 2026 in front of the Tibarg Center.

Step 4: Receive proof of your commitment and a voucher for a first aid course.
