Three days, countless ideas, boundless creativity: the design and media courses at Hanover University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Faculty III, invite you to the Werkschau 2026 at the Design Center on Expo Plaza from April 24 to 26.
On around 5,000 square meters, the exhibition will showcase work from all degree courses and offer insights into creative processes, course content and career prospects. The exhibition is complemented by a diverse supporting program of workshops, performances, installations, film screenings, augmented reality projects and lectures by alumni and designers. A design kiosk, final presentations and a portrait photo shoot round off the program.
Friday, April 24
In the morning, a sneak preview with guided tours, workshops and information about studying is aimed specifically at school pupils.
The official opening will take place at 6:45 pm in the atrium with words of welcome from the faculty and the Presidential Board. A fashion show follows at 7 p.m. with experimental collections ranging from work, sports and military aesthetics to "time travel" looks.
From 20:00, the show will be followed by an opening party: With VÄXT, TÜTE, DJ Schnickschnack and juicyb2b, a cross-genre club program from house and UK garage to techno will be created.
Saturday, April 25
Saturday combines exhibition and program throughout the Design Center: A flea market on the Expo Plaza, an open picnic with ping-pong as well as numerous workshops and talks invite visitors to join in and exchange ideas.
In talks, Robin Rau (Hugo Boss and others), the Entrepreneurship Center NEXSTER, Justine Loddenkemper and Daniel Kroh, among others, will provide insights into design practice, career paths, sustainability and start-ups. The "AUS DEM KOFFER +" project shows models of artistic self-organization, while a mobile regulars' table by the Cameo Collective creates space for discussions on social issues.
Artistic contributions include a mask performance and the exhibition "Decomposed" with installative, performative and multimedia works on transformation and transience.
Sunday, April 26
On Sunday, the focus will be on perspectives after graduation: talks by Chris, The Red and Nina Düwel (NOIE Studios) will shed light on self-employment, artistic practice and setting up an office.
The event concludes at 4 p.m. with the Werkschau-Kino in the lecture hall with a curated program of current film projects from media design, visual journalism and visual communication - accompanied by discussions with the filmmakers.
The exhibition is open on Saturday and Sunday from 12 noon to 7 pm.
