Werkstatt.Dialog.Musik – Konzertfrühstück

In the context of the exhibition The Struggle of Memory - Part 2, the second concert breakfast of the popular series "Werkstatt.Dialog.Musik" is dedicated to the memory of foreign landscapes and an unrequited love. The Philharmonic String Quartet, an ensemble from the ranks of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, will be our guests. It will present works by the Czech composer Antonin Dvořák: Excerpts from Cypresses give the listener an inkling of Dvořák's memories of the (unattainable) love of his life; the "American" String Quartet paints in the listener's mind's eye the picture of his stay in Spillville, a village in the U.S. state of Iowa founded in 1860 by predominantly Czech immigrants.

An exploration of the theme in dialogue with the musicians is expressly encouraged, and after the concert you can again take part in a free guided tour of the exhibition with your ticket. - Art and culture interdisciplinary and under one roof!
