Highlights of Dialect Humor

In addition to his hugely successful legal cabaret, Werner Koczwara has also been delighting audiences for years with his Swabian shows. “Für eine Handvoll Trollinger,” “Wie aus Affen Bausparer wurden,” and “Muggabatscher ond Bombobabierle” are hallmarks of Swabian humor.

This program, specially concocted for the Renitenztheater, features a very cheerful compilation of these and new highlights. The result is, once again, an evening packed with a breathtaking density of punchlines. A cabaret performance that delves deep into the subject matter while remaining incredibly funny, with a slight penchant for artistic anarchy: We take the elevator down to hell, where a completely overwhelmed devil awaits us. We encounter Death, who is struggling with severe alcohol problems. And along the way, we also learn how to drive men and women mad with Swabian terms of endearment.

The show is performed in Oxford-Swabian, a dialect understandable throughout Germany. As an encore, there’s regularly a language lesson explaining controversial terms. By then, at the latest, dramatic scenes break out in the audience. An evening filled with great humor.
