Who killed the Great Gatsby?
In the organizer's words:
A novel of the century, set in a single night: The last night of the enigmatic Jay Gatsby.
In the midst of the Roaring Twenties: At a luxurious estate on Long Island, the enigmatic millionaire Gatsby throws the most breathtaking and trendy parties. On this one night—preceded by a long, eventful, yet tormented summer—the tensions among the protagonists culminate in a wild and, at the same time, fateful party. Vick Carraway, now a friend of Gatsby’s, has stirred up quite a storm in the phantom’s life and brought down a few facades. Her romance with Jordan Baker seems to be bearing healthy fruit so far. They’ve even managed to bring Gatsby’s lost love, Daisy, back into his life, and it seems as though there is hope. But Daisy’s husband won’t give up his wife without a fight—even though he himself is having an affair with the wife of a gas station owner, Myrtle Wilson.
The result is a tangled web of obligations and dreams that will reach its climax on this fateful evening. We witness a breathtaking thriller that rushes into the night of the 1920s like a glittering golden avalanche and, like fireworks, comes to an end with a thunderous bang. By the time the first glasses clink in a toast, it’s already too late: there’s no stopping this night now.
A fast-paced theatrical thrill ride featuring the ensemble from the Sommertheater im Dschungel, along with amateur actors from RheinMain University of Applied Sciences and a dance ensemble from Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz.
