Loneliness affects many people personally and all of us as a society. Psychology professor Maike Luhmann has been researching this topic for fifteen years and will be presenting her new book "Loneliness. Why it affects us all". In the subsequent panel discussion, scientific, personal and practical perspectives will be exchanged and social consequences and possible solutions will be discussed.
The panel:
Prof. Maike Luhmann is a loneliness researcher at the Ruhr University Bochum, who will provide a scientific classification of the topic: What is loneliness? What does it do to society? And why does it affect us all?
Tim Kramer is Chairman of the Board of "Vereint Bochum e.V." and ambassador "Aktiv gegen Einsamkeit", who brings a personal perspective: male loneliness, publicity, creativity and places of belonging.
Sebastian Mayer-Druzba is a social worker at the Bochum-Mitte comprehensive school and former director of the "Hu-Town" children's and youth recreation center, who will report on his practical experience: How does coexistence develop in schools and neighborhoods? What challenges are there? And what really helps?
