What does it mean to be at home in a society that often defines you by your origins? Berlin-based author Fikri Anıl Altıntaş is one of the most prominent voices in the discourse on identity, role models and new masculinity. He became known as a UN Women #HeForShe ambassador and for his texts for Der Freitag, taz and Pinkstinks, in which he critically scrutinizes toxic masculinity and patriarchal patterns.

His acclaimed debut "Im Morgen wächst ein Birnbaum" and his latest novel "Zwischen uns liegt August" deal radically honestly with growing up as the son of Turkish parents, the pain of being uprooted and the search for his own language for feelings.

Altıntaş talks to guests from Ahlen about projections, belonging and successful coexistence. Moderated by Martina Padberg, the evening invites you to think beyond clichés about origin and home and to gain new perspectives on living together.
