Boundless? A play about AI by the youth club Active Player NK

The new production by the ACTIVE PLAYER NK youth club explores the question: Where and when does artificial intelligence reach its limits? In self-developed scenes, young people from Neukölln challenge the AI they encounter everywhere - as a helper, as a refuge, as a seemingly perfect confidant, always available, always positive, seemingly empathetic. But what happens when we begin to address our deepest concerns to something that knows no real feelings? While the characters open up to the AI, all we see from the outside is one thing: young people sitting alone in front of their cell phones.

The play ruthlessly exposes the differences between humans and machines: AI can take over, imitate and calculate many things - but it cannot feel. It simulates closeness where there is none; it says what we want to hear without understanding it. And while images and videos are becoming ever more perfect, the line between real and artificial is blurring: what is real news and what is manipulated?

Can we still recognize what is real - or have we long been living in a big fake? In the finale, everything comes together in a haunting monologue: What is humanity? A question that not only accompanies the audience, but challenges them.
